One of those days

"Are you being more Folkie?"

"Are you being more Folkie?"...A question RM asked me as she heard the strains of a previously unheard song as we dressed this morning.  Well, yes, in so many ways I was... I was listening to "Look At Miss Ohio" because that's what today's t-shirt says - a bright pink affair which I've inherited from Folkie's extensive music t-shirt collection.  Not many people wear as much bright pink as I do, this was another of life's serendipity moments...anyway I won't ever wear a band-related t-shirt without knowing the band or song it relates to I was required to listen before putting it on and I was particularly taken with the line "I wanna do right, but not right now".   Definitely the current mood.

Another thing I shared with Folkie was a love of hard jigsaws.  Holidays in this house always start with a jigsaw (I do them, the wife pats them down to "help"...) and to be fair this one was a slight cheat because I started this on Tuesday and finished last night, so just scrapes the start of the holiday rule. This was one of Folkies - how perfect, a jigsaw of an album cover.  It's 500 pieces and I promise not as hard as it looked (there's a slightly frsutrating patch of yellow you get left with at the end but otherwise it's manageable and even the yellow on;y took an hour or so).  Anyway I share this detail because in agreement with MsMoss I'd like to offer this jigsaw into the Blipverse - if any other Folkie's friends or followers or indeed jigsaw fans would like to do the jigsaw please let me know and I can send it on... with the promise that you will do the same once it's completed?  A classic Taz harebrained scheme but let's see where we can get it sent to...

In the extra's, at the end of my long last day of work before holiday yesterday I took an impromptu walk round West Kirby marina.  Hilariously I unexpectedly bumped into my own child playing football down there when I'd got round.  Anyway it was windy but the sunset was glorious, and I was accompanied by Michelle Visage on Radio 2 doing a whole half hour set dedicated to sunshine.  I stood watching this scene with Dario G in my ears and was reminded that sometimes life is just glorious.
