School's Out

Another day of catching up with an old friend. I'm being unusually sociable this week. Over the years we've commiserated over supporting children through an education system that didn't understand or support them and today, as her daughter has just left school, we shared the huge relief of finishing school vicariously. I still feel it, even though it is 19 years since I was released from a system that tried to punish me for my daughter's school-made difficulties.
