Now, as I see it......

Supermarket Sweep

I'm no great fan of modern architecture but I've always admired this building.  It's only a supermarket with apartments above it but I really like the big red 'blade' going down through the centre of it and the way the roof steps down as the number of floors decreases further away from the main corner.  I also think that it is the only modern building I know that actually looks like the watercolour 'concept' drawing that architects always produce to try and make their building look attractive but which normally looks nothing like the finished thing.

It looked a lot better in the early evening sun last night as we walked up to meet our friends at the restaurant but I'd already done my blip by then so instead it'll have to be as seen on a chilly and cloudy morning.  Good to meet up with our friends and put the world to rights.

When we drove over yesterday we went through dreadful rain around the Newmarket/Cambridge area making driving difficult, but arrived in Milton Keynes to a dry and warm day.  Going home today we went through a lot more rain in much the same place but have come home to blue skies and fluffy clouds.  Nice to go away but it's good to come home again!
