M and I went shooting at an underground range. We chose Kalaznikovs from a wide range of modern weapons of various calibres. M chose the one with the laser sights and then a 9mm pistol. I finally tried some kind of Czech Uzi type thing. Rather a different activity to normal. We were both pleased that all our shots hit the targets. We had to wear ear protectors and safety procedures were in force.

On the way out we asked about the Maxim gun. Yes, he said, but you have to book a day in advance. Since the range is only 25 meters long they need to position extra sand bags. The cost would be 3000 zl, about £600. We passed on that. The range is used by the Police and other armed services for practice. All sorts of training could be provided too...

Next we went to the outdoor museum of traditional building where I took a lot more shots.
