Another 'B' day

Today B is for birds. I had put a couple of handfuls of seed in the feeder for the chickadees. This morning I looked out and this male purple finch was sitting in the feeder having his breakfast. He sat there for about 20 minutes. The chickadees came for a visit this afternoon and a young cardinal has been visiting too.

I put a couple more handfuls of seed in the feeder this afternoon. It was empty. I am hoping that the rat doesn't figure out a way to get to this feeder. It was on the deck tonight. I went out and scared it away.

The rain that was in the forecast was just a teaser. It's like the winter when they put a mild day with sun in the long range forecast, then they change it closer to that time. Now it is a chance of showers (40%) tonight and again tomorrow evening. The province issued a province wide fire ban today and it is in effect until the end of October. No campfires, no bonfires, no burning brush. Don't even light a match close to any trees.
