Henge

After a day in London yesterday, today had a much different kind of feel.

So, in Salisbury where we'd never been before - obviously after a hearty hotel breakfast it was time to check out and have a wander in the town as well as visiting the cathedral. Much to like, the foundation font being particularly impressive, as well as some temporary contemporary art pieces. Oh, and that actual original copy of the Magna Carta from 1215 of course.

On to another new place. I can barely believe that I've reached the ripe old age of 56 without going to Stonehenge but now, as of today, that neolithic cherry has been, erm, popped. And I loved it! I kind of thought previously that you couldn't get anywhere near the stones these days but not the case, actually perfectly close enough I reckoned.

And then on to Avebury (another new place) which was terrific too. Stone circles and standing stones all over the shop! Delightful walking around the fields in the early evening sunshine and taking it all in.

But tonight (and tomorrow night too) we're stopping a little further up the road in our English Odyssey in an Air BnB - think posh shed/cabin in some rich person's garden - somewhere in The Cotswolds. I have no idea what we're up to either whilst we're here because, again, it's somewhere else I'm completely unfamiliar with. Let's see what the morning brings.
