Heart Quilt

That title is correct. Eventually these blocks, along with about 40 more that I haven't made yet, will become a heart pattern. It's all spelled out but I haven't looked ahead to see how it works. Now all I have to do is wait for somebody to get married. It seems like a perfect wedding gift.

Our Boulder friends, Marc and Teri are coming soon and tomorrow we will set off on what is becoming an annual pilgrimage to Nick's Cove, an eccentrically elegant collection of cottages on the Marin County coast. We've been going to the restaurant for years and wondered about the buildings scattered around the hillside across the street and last year we found out when we stayed there with Marc and Teri. We liked it so much we're going back again. Spike is welcome too, so he will finally get his trip to the beach.

Last year a good part of our stay was taken up with phone drama when John thought he'd dropped his phone when we stopped in Sebastopol for lunch. Turns out it was in the car the whole time but he didn't figure that out before he drove all the way back to Sebastopol....

Dana and Jim and Peter are joining us for dinner tonight. We go way back with Mark and Teri and they've known our kids since they were quite young (our kids, that is, though I suppose Marc and Teri were quite young too).
