Wast Burrafirth Kirk
A cloudy start to the day, but soon cleared into a sunny late morning, afternoon and evening. Calm to breezy, and a cooler day at 17⁰c.
Another day working with James on the mini essykert. Paper recycling waste from Scalloway, Sand, Skeld, Silwick, Westerwick, Culswick, Gruting and West Burrafirth. After lunch I was fixing wheelie bins around Lerwick with Dan. Walkies with Sammy after work. Nipped down to meet the family for a walk this evening. Last bedtime walkies, now feet up.
Sad news came in today, granny Margaret's (Arthur) last sibling, aunt Bella, passed away yesterday, aged 93. She moved away from Shetland at a young age, I never really got to know her well, sadly, but she was always a fun when we saw her. Only two great aunts left, I must get to see them, and soon. Granny's old house was ripped down years ago, with a lovely new build that compliments it well on the site, so instead of the new build, here's the old kirk, or mission hall they attended Sunday school at. Taken at West Burrafirth kirk.
The extra is the family this evening. L-R - bro Jonny, cousin Barbara, friend Joanne, aunt Joan, mam, Laura, Ava and Jamie, taken in Fladdabister.
