Neung-sur-Beuvron

Strange sounding place, but this is where we are staying. Not in this building, which I think is the local church (looks very grand for a small place like this), but in a chalet on the edge of town. Well, about 5 minutes walk away from this building, so *thats* the "edge of town".

Aside from traffic on the main road, from where I took this, it is very quite and peaceful. We are in one of two very nice chalets, ours being the bigger one, which are on part of the garden in front of their owners house.
There is a fence and gate between the two and we don't really feel like we are on top of them. We met the man of the couple yesterday, who is a bit older than we are. Had a nice chat about anything from ailments to the car show we used to go to in nearby Lamotte Beuvron.

He seems like a nice bloke and made us feel very welcome. For us, this weeks stay is a bit of a bargain and we were wondering what the catch was. Seems that they've paid up the mortgage on everything, so feel they can't justify charging the going rate. Added to which, they haven't widely advertised the two gîtes/chalets and Mme MB just came across them by chance when searching online.

Our holiday away is a short one this year, after all recent the messing about. Just 7 days, as we need to crack on with getting the other house up to scratch so we can rent it out. We arrived yesterday (Monday) and are leaving on Sunday.
