after dinner walk

We usually walk through the family property saying hi to whoever is there, before walking down to the cable ferry or 3rd line road. Our cottage, which we share with Steve's brothers is behind us and big house where his grandmother was born is on the left. Straight ahead is the old oats barn and the willow tree that lost a large branch this year. The big house dock is on the right and up the hill is one more house and a cottage that belong to cousins of Steve. The property also stretches back from the river and includes a couple of farmer's fields along 3rd Line road. 

Wow, is right! The family is very lucky to have collectively kept this property as a place for the family to congregate. They number over 200 and are located all over the US, Canada, Greece, Mexico, France and other places. The big house is shared by a number of family members who map out a week or two in the summer, so if we're here for more than a week or two, we "crossover" with different family members. Our time is winding down here... of course we will miss it, but it's time to go home.
