Life is a Challenge!

AND THE RAIN CAME DOWN...

...which is a great shame after all the lovely weather we have had, but I don’t think it will dampen the spirits of Graham and Mr. HCB.

You may recall that Graham is the son of Mr. HCB’s cricket buddy, Keith, who died a couple of years ago, but every year for many years, Graham has come back to the UK from the US to go to cricket at Cheltenham Festival.  Even after Keith died, Graham has come back and taken Mr. HCB to cricket, which is great and I’m sure that Keith will be looking down and nodding his approval!  Mr. HCB was delighted to see that Graham was wearing a Cheltenham Festival/Gloucestershire County Cricket Club tee shirt - so well done Graham!

Today is their day and although it’s raining, which you can see from the car behind them, I’m sure it won’t dampen their spirits.  A fish and chip lunch is planned and whatever the weather, there will definitely be an ice cream from Anna, and no doubt Keith’s name will be mentioned many times.

I was going to stay in and do some cleaning, but then I realised two things - (1)  that Tuesday ends in a “Y” and you all know what that means - and (2) Mr. HCB will have the car for the rest of the week, because cricket doesn’t finish until Friday.  Therefore, it seems silly not to take advantage of the fact that I have the car today, so will be going over to the Orbital, a large retail park to the north of Swindon, and having a good look around and hopefully, I will buy some new clothes.

Hope you all have a good day - although it is still raining, it is getting brighter, so hopefully the skies over Cheltenham will be sunny and bright - according to the weather app, the rain should have stopped by 11 o’clock.  I might just add that whatever the weather, Keith always wanted to go to the match - and also wanted to stay until the bitter end!  No doubt that will be mentioned too with a smile!
