On the road towards home

What better way to start the day than doing a large purchase at a bookshop? (extra photo)

We drove home to Akureyri from Reykjavík today and there was heavy traffic on the roads. Not unusual for late July in Iceland since almost everyone is on summerholiday at the same time. There were many campervans and lots of trailer tents and folding campers in tow. 

We stopped in Hvammstangi to meet a dear friend of ours for coffee. She lives in Oslo and has been here in Iceland for three weeks already, so it was great to be able to see her on the way home. 

Home sweet home just before dinnertime and the evening was spent unpacking, organising and tidying, shopping for essentials and cuddling the cat. Loðvík was happy to see us! 
....well, you know, as much as cats show happiness!
