Flowering
I was up before 5 and out of the house at half past, on the train at 6 and in London before midday.
I had thought about how I might spend the afternoon - just out of interest, I looked up some of the tourist things and couldn’t believe the prices…London Zoo £35, Hampton Court £28, Kew Gardens £25 Of course there is plenty of free stuff, including most of the museums and art galleries, but today I wanted to be outdoors. I decided to visit some of the Parks.
Regent’s Park is my favourite and I spent a lot of time in the rose garden - I love roses. This one was called “Emma Bridgewater”.
I walked from there all the way to Victoria. It was a hot day so I stopped off in Berkeley Square and St James’s Park for a rest in the shade. London has so many green spaces.
Chris and Merry made me very welcome when I arrived in Redhill. Sarah didn’t get back from work until 7 and we had to eat quickly as she was taking part in a bellringing competition in Dorking. I went along to listen and then we had tea in the graveyard.
I am tired now. My watch says I’ve done over 21,000!steps, almost 9 miles.
