From Murton to South Shields

My blip of today has nothing to do with our holiday, but the statue of the woman struck me when I cycled past it yesterday. It's the memorial located on the main road in Murton. The woman's pose evokes a moment of introspection. Stillness. As I cycled past, I saw the hole right through her body at the level of her heart.

The weather was perfect for a leisurely bike ride along the sea. We practically strolled along on our bikes so as not to disturb the pedestrians. After all, we were mostly riding on the sidewalk.
I find that I enjoy cycling along the coast more than anywhere else. Most of our cycling holidays were spent cycling along the coast.
We had coffee at Fausto's and picnicked on the beach.
Just after three o'clock we check in at the hotel where we stayed for five days in the fall six years ago. Plenty of time to stroll along the pier to the eine.
