Opening Flower

Garden ponds need to be managed. I have to confess to neglecting ours this year, so today I decided to take the bull by the horns, or the water lilies by the stems, and do some serious clearance, I removed the dead leaves and flowers together with the larger water lily leaves which were poking up everywhere and formed an umbrella over the water. Then I removed swathes of pondweed and cleared the edges. I left the new flowers and a few small leaves. One of the new flowers features as my blip today. It now looks a lot better. The surface is covered in pond skaters and the fish look much happier.
