No Fit State Circus
There was a bit of a commotion on the corner of Thistle & Hanover Street this morning, which resulted in some traffic diversions as was noted by LadyFindhorn. The cause being a car being on fire. And it seemed a proper fire, with lots of smoke and very visible flames. I really had no idea how a burning car is supposed to behave, and whether it will do any kind of Hollywood-like shrapnel projecting explosion. So I didn't feel brave enough to get an eyebrow-singing shot, and instead took a few tentative snaps from a very suitable distance away. It did give me the perfect excuse to be a bit late for a meeting though.
By lunchtime all signs of the burning vehicle were gone, and life and the Edinburgh festival carried on. Which meant another fantastic opportunity to a few more street portraits than I normal. Including lots of these charming representatives from their show. They were so visually striking that any one of their individual portraits would have done me proud, but obviously getting them all together here was a bit more special.
