Barmouth

Summer holiday 2025 day 1-3

The task for this morning...after breakfast of course, and use of the outdoor shower, was to get the tent down and the car re-tetris'd. A task that was surprisingly painless. Louisa tetris'd and I tented. All packed up and ready to go we headed over to Barmouth just as the rain started drizzling down.

Being a bit damp, we wandered over to the arcade first* rather than the beach where Owen wanted to challenge Louisa and me at various games. We found Wendy's for some coffee, brunch, and Owen's new found love of cucumber(?). Then, a wander around some gift shops before the beach as the clouds slowly moved away. There was the usual exploring the sand dunes and owen and me made this epic sandcastle (volcano not in shot), complete with forest, while Louisa went in the sea before we had a paddle in the rock pools. Back up to the car and off for ice creams before the journey home.

Home in time for the 2nd half of the Women's Euros final and to see England retain the trophy on penalties. It's been a busy couple of days and I just wish it had been a longer break.
