An ordinary life....

Trying to keep calm...

I'm not saying D missed his golf last week but he was heading to Leven to meet up with Keith by 8.15am!  :-)))

I took advantage of not having guests to look after and had a lovely lie in, finally getting up at 10am.

After lunch I went out to the garden and watered the herbs I bought yesterday.  I can't find the planter I thought I had for them so another trip to the garden centre on the cards but that won't happen till Tuesday at the earliest as meeting Keith and Mairi for lunch tomorrow.

D returned from golf having not played to his satisfaction but he enjoyed being out regardless.  After a week of cooking for six, we were lazy and had an Indian takeaway.

I had a ten point to-do list today.  I've ticked off one task.  Oh well, on the bright side my laptop behaved itself and Lightroom worked a treat.  Don't know what the problem was yesterday, but hopefully it's now sorted!

My lovely Blip Pals, I don't normally discuss politics in my journal so feel free to stop reading here, but I cannot ignore the visit to my beautiful wee country by that disgusting sorry-excuse-for-a-man, who is currently destroying his own great country, the USA.

He is here on a private five day visit to his two luxury golf resorts that is estimated will cost the UK taxpayer £14 million!  What the actual f*ck?!!!  Why is he not paying for it himself?  I bet it is also costing US tax payers just as much, if not more.   It makes me sick!   And it makes me sick that our First Minister agreed to meet with him.  But well done to Stephen Flynn, MP for Aberdeen South, who gave an excellent reason not to meet Trump.

But I am so proud of how we Scots have responded to his visit, in particular  The National newspaper's headline.  Oh, and of course this :-)))

And my utmost respect to all those who turned out to protest his visit outside the US Consulate in Edinburgh, as well all those individual protesters and their amazing and often hilarious banners protesting where he will see them.  (The best thing I have seen today is an American newsreader attempting to explain to the American nation what a jobbie is :-)))

His motorcade consisted of 28 vehicles including two Scottish NHS Ambulances!!!  He better hope no Scottish citizen was denied an emergency ambulance because they were too busy trailing after him!!

I am mortified that his mother was Scottish although if he'd been raised in this country we'd have sorted him out long before now!  We do not suffer self important, delusional fools gladly.

And to anyone who dares suggests his golf courses are an asset to Scotland, the Aberdeenshire course doubled its losses in a year (£1.4 million loss in 2024) and with a round at Turnberry costing £1000, it's completely beyond the reach of 90% of ordinary golfers.

Oh and talking of Trump and golf at Turnberry...
