Portrait Award

Up early again today, to get packed up and checked out of the hotel, and hotfoot it over to Tottenham Court Road, to go to the Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery with my friend Lizzie.  (A whole lot less of a mouthful when it was the BP Portrait Award!)

Lizzie met me at the Tube station, and we went to Brother Marcus nearby for breakfast.  Delicious food, and a nice chance to catch up before going round the exhibition.  I gave Lizzie her birthday presents there, too, and she seemed very pleased with all of them.

We walked to the gallery after that, I checked my suitcase in to the cloakroom, and we had a great time looking at all the amazing paintings.  Lizzie headed off to work afterwards, and I had a little look round another part of the gallery, before walking over to Covent Garden for a look in a few shops.  Came back and collected my suitcase, then caught the Tube over to Paddington.  Had some lunch at Leon, then caught the train home to Tim, who kindly picked me up from Barnstaple.
