Paraglider

The rain seemed to have stopped, but it was still a grey and damp morning.  It looked to be brightening up, so we headed off to do the walk we had planned for yesterday.

We started near Whaley  Bridge and walked by two reservoirs in the Goyt Valley, Fernilee and Errwood.  We were surprised at how low Errwood was (extra 1).  We then headed up hill by Shooters Clough to Shining Tor. We stopped there and had our sandwiches.  We continued on to Cats Tor, watching paragliders, and then catching up with a DoE group. We continued to Windgather Rocks, where we passed a group of climbers, before continuing our descent and getting back to the car.

We thought it would be sensible to wear our boots today, given yesterday’s rain, but we both ended up with sore feet. I actually think that I could be doing with a new pair of boots.

We stopped off in Buxton to pick up provisions for tea. After tea, I popped out to see the sunset.

This is one of the paragliders. The extras are the Lovell telescope, as seen from Shining Tor, TT walking on the path across the tops, and this evening’s sunset.
