Bowls
TUESDAY
A quiet morning at home, followed by an afternoon trip to the bowling green for our match against Penrhyn New Hall.
After heavy overnight rain, the green was in a sorry state. Some areas were waterlogged, slowing the bowls considerably, while other patches had dried out so much that bowls were flying off into the gutter. It made for a very unpredictable game.
I played at number 10 and didn’t have my best day—crashing to defeat.
Fortunately, the rest of the team stepped up. We ended the day with six winners out of ten, plus an extra two points for the overall aggregate.
Thanks to that result, we’ve moved into top spot in the division table. It will be short-lived, though, as one of the chasing teams still has a game in hand.
