Scuppered!
No, not the boy. He has spent many hours optimising getting in and out of the door. Not sure he has got it completely sussed yet, but he is getting faster. It was my plans for a day at Taunton watching Somerset play Durham on the third day of a 4 day match, but this happened:
Rothesay County Championship Division One, Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton (day two)
Durham 145 & 190: Gay 42; Leach 6-63, Vaughan 4-85
Somerset 250 & 89-5: Banton 33*, Lammonby 22; Parkinson 4-39
Somerset (20 pts) beat Durham (3pts) by five wickets
Not sure I can fit another day in this season. So although delighted with a win, I wish they have taken a bit more time about it and maybe got some batting points too. <deep sigh>
So instead I started the day with a relaxed breakfast at my B&B sitting on the balcony looking out over Bodmin moor. Then I popped back to the farm to say farewells and collect sunflowers. Tamsin ventured into the cover crop and emerged with a huge bunch of sunflowers for me.
Then began the long journey home. The original plan had been to stay in Bristol again after a long day at the cricket, so I had to return to pick up bits that had been left in the fridge there. I popped over to Bath to see Saturday's birthday girl and give her some of the Cornish sunflowers, then back to see the boy practising his escape strategies. Once he was in bed, it was off to face the M4 and M25 and home.
The third extra may look boring, but this is the upright of an Ikea bookcase in the yurt. The holes on this bookcase upright were not filled by human hand, instead these are the carefully constructed nests of hoverflies which my nephew filmed in action. You only get to see the finished article here, which is a bit less interesting. I await news of the babies hatching some time in the future.
