We celebrated Tessa's birthday this evening.

Again, there's a festival in the fields behind our house so we enjoyed an evening of live music from the comfort of the garden.

Later we were plagued by hornets. One in our bedroom and four in the sun lounge. Several more were gathering at the patio doors. Something to tackle in the morning.

I started the day with Isaac and Lucy when I joined them for breakfast at Shoots, a wholefood cafe in town.

Louise and Lucy and families are off the Cornwall tomorrow. Their 28th consecutive year. We used to go too but it became complicated as our numbers grew so we stepped out.

Anyway, Isaac wants to go straight to Cornwall from work tomorrow. Everybody else will be going early morning. So I shall take Isaac to work and he can get the train without worrying about taking the car.

It's been very hot again.
