Call To Arms
A day off work today for my birthday, and a nice lie in. As mentioned yesterday, Sophia had an entire day planned for me.
We actually started off by making our tea for this evening: Pizza! We made the dough from scratch and had to leave it in the fridge for 8 hours so it could rise. It was fun and I felt proper chefy.
Then we made brunch: sausage and bacon ciabatta sandwiches! Absolutely delicious and super filling.
We chilled for a little bit and then headed out to the Royal Armouries museum. There is a Flickr album here. It was the second time I'd been, the first time for Sophia, and it was just as great as the first time. The blip is of the Hall Of Steel, a collection of arms and armour on the ground floor, rising up through the staircase to the top. There is also a set of angled mirrors at the bottom to make for some interesting perspectives.
We got home and continued on the pizzas. Sophia made a pizza sauce, and we rolled out the dough into 2 pizzas. One pepperoni and one margherita with pesto. She also got some mozzarella from the vegan supermarket in town and it was delicious! We are both absolutely stuffed now.
We didn't have time for the evening activity she planned unfortunately, so we are going to do it tomorrow instead. It has finally been revealed to me though! Sophia has prepared a single player D&D session for me, which apparently is also going to be part quiz, so I'm really excited for that too!
It's been a wonderful day and I'm really happy that she planned all of this for me.
