Shredded
A pretty wet and miserable day. Certainly not one for going out so apart from a trip to the local shop for my morning newspaper I've not been anywhere. However, it turned into quite a productive day.
I've been meaning for a while to go through files of old paperwork and get rid of the old and unnecessary stuff so today I set to. It's amazing how much it accumulates if you don't keep on top of it and whilst it was only a few inches of papers in a couple of files in a cabinet, it was enough for me to overheat the shredder twice! As the Abstract Thursday challenge is 'texture' I thought the textural quality of all the shredded paper might work.
And in other news, my coffee machine finally gave up the ghost this morning. It's an old 'bean to cup' machine and I've been keeping it going over the last couple of years with occasional spare parts and by standing with a finger on the front to close the door when the mechanism punches it open while making a coffee. But when, this morning, it decided that rather than put my coffee into my cup it would prefer to issue it out of the bottom onto the kitchen worktop I decided it was time for us to part. I knew this day was coming so had been researching what to replace it with, and managed to find the one I wanted at £80 cheaper than anywhere else including even Amazon, with 250g of beans thrown in. It should be delivered tomorrow; let's hope this is the start of a lifelong relationship.
