LONG LOST

This mailbox, with the flower attached,
is in front of a vacant lot. The house was torn down several years ago & I assumed
new houses would soon be built on the large, flat lot.

That has not happened, probably because
interest rates remain high & tariffs have made building supplies very expensive.

I wonder if the flower, left on the mailbox,
was in memory of someone who, long ago, lived in the old Spanish style house.
