Lightwater Valley
Had a terrible night's sleep. Just couldn't get to sleep for ages and then I kept waking up with leg pain. According to my Fitbit I only had around 4.5 hrs actual sleep. Fortunately the leg pain wasn't too bad during the day....... and I haven't felt tired.
Becky was up early and went for a run. At 9am we headed into Northallerton to have breakfast in the Ontaro Lounge.... a Cafe /Bar in the High Street. I didn't feel hungry so I had nothing.
After the breakfast stop we drove to Lightwater Valley. It opened at 10.30am. The tickets were my birthday present for Astrids 4th birthday. We all had a great time going on loads of different rides. We went to the cafe for lunch. Astrid had a tasty cheese sandwich and Becky and Mike had pizza. I still didn't have much appetite so I had a rocky road bar and a cup of coffee.
Mike and Astrid went on a Swan Boat on the long lake. This photo is my entry for Wide Wednesday. The theme is 'long' . Mike and Astrid are in the boat on the left. Astrid loved it. Thanks to Bob's Blips for hosting.
We left at 3.30pm just as the heavens opened. It was really heavy rain all the way back home. We were so lucky to have dry weather while we were there.
Astrid was so excited to get home as it was time to open all her presents. She got some jigsaws, loads of books, a special table where she could set up her train set, some soft toys, play dough, a set of stepping stones for the garden, a skittles set....... and more. She played with her train set for a long time and then the skittles... Then it was time for birthday cake and blowing out the candles. Then bedtime...... after Becky had read her numerous bedtime stories.
We ordered takeaway for our meal. I was feeling hungry by now so I had mac'n cheese with chips ( see Extra) followed by a slice of birthday cake.
Bedtime for me now and I have company. Chester the cat is fast asleep at the bottom of the bed...... See Extra.
