I Witness

Tiny Tuesday ...

... the tiniest of bugs.

Before heading to Lake Nockamixon this morning I had a wander around the back garden looking for tiny things.  And I found lots of said things.  Including this tiny black-eyed susan bud with an even tinier bug.  Now ... don't ask me what it is because I have no idea.  I do know that I didn't even see it until I was uploading my pictures!  Thanks to JDO (Jill) for hosting Tiny Tuesday this month.

As this was the most absolutely perfect summer day we spent the afternoon kayaking at Lake Nockamixon.  We got there shortly before lunch so after setting up the kayak we ate the picnic lunch we brought with us.  Then we were off in the kayak.

And we had the most incredible experience ... one we have never experienced before.  As we were paddling away I saw what looked like a white-tailed deer on the edge of the lake ... actually in the lake.  And then I saw there was a small fawn not too far from the doe.  The fawn was very skittish and quickly disappeared into the woods.  But mom stayed in the water eating the water plants ... the lily pads I believe.  As we continued to watch her and following her along we saw another deer coming out of the woods.  This one was a large buck.

The doe wasn't crazy about this and she eventually chased him off.  I've documented all this in the collage in Extras.  There are pictures of the doe, the fawn, the buck and the chase off ... in that order.

I've also posted two other pictures from our paddle in my Facebook feed.

Two sleeps ...
