Aiguèze, by the river

While I was looking for a route for Hannah and I to run this morning, I saw on the map a tunnel that runs underneath the hill on which Célas sits. I guessed that was to accommodate the old railway, and thus I finally found the route.

The photo in my Extra was taken from an old railway bridge, looking back towards Célas and the tunnel entrance, and that first section was one of the more runnable parts: the first half of the run quickly became more of an orienteering expedition. Still, it was nice to get out.

The Minx and I took the day off, today - for the most part, at least, and we took Hannah and Charlie out to Aiguèze, but this time we parked by the river and went down to the shore, which was, to all intents and purposes, a beach.

There were loads of people there, swimming and kayaking, as well of some pedaloes that incorporated a children's slide.

Charlie and I swam out to the rock you can see in my photo. The water became deep quite quickly, so it went from being quite cool near the banks to a bit colder, but that was actually pleasant in the sunshine.

And at the end of the afternoon, we drove up into Aiguèze and returned to the restaurant we enjoyed last week for some drinks and dinner.
