Men At Work..
.. in my garden ..and also in my neighbour Elaine's garden next door (extra). Between the two of us, we could keep these guys busy for the season!
While exciting changes were happening outside in the garden, I was indoors reading. I finished my book Once There were Wolves by Charlotte McConaughy and started a new one.. Friends by Fredrik Backman..and already I like it!
I also spent hours sorting through - believe it or not - my circular knitting needles. Now you ask, how could that possible take hours? Because I have so many, that's why. I saved and organized over 40 of them into a needle carrying case and donated even more to the local thrift store. Why did I have so many? Over all those years of knitting, I collected an amazingly large number, then inherited my mother's huge collection and then an elderly neighbour gave me hers! And oh yes, this doesn't even include the trendy specialist sets of which I have two and actually use..and of course I am not even going to mention the drawer full of straight needles! ( except I did - just mention, I mean) That has been put off for another rainy day.
Of course, there was the usual weekend FaceTime chat with my friend Mary in Grand Manan, after which I always come away with a list of her recommended books to read. Did I mention that Mary has been asked to do the "Pick of the Month" for her local library's website? They certainly found the perfect person for that job! She pretty much does it already for her friends!
PS: the water pump is now working at the cottage! My sister is pleased....Her family all arrive this week for a two-week stay! Not having running water would have been a bit of an inconvenience!
