First seeds are in!
The brassica seeds are sown, making it the big red letter day of the second half of winter.
8 varieties: red cabbage, savoy cabbage, drumhead cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, swede, kohl rabi and kale.
Just think; one or more of these seeds will turn into plants which will be exhibited at the A&P Show in February.
The morning was spent in K's garden pruning all the roses. I came home pooped at lunchtime, but a bowl of soup pepped me up.
And I was ready to get into more mulching and more raised bed prepping here. I even started collecting chook poo from below the perches in the hen run, which will go into deep trenches in the brassica bed - to feed the seedlings which will grow from these seeds.
Last year was a brassica triumph thanks to chook poo, so I have high hopes for the coming season. And for the Show...
The extra is the only other photo I've taken today. It would have been the ultimate Emergency Blip I feel. Can you guess?
