The accidental finding

Up the ladder to the loft

Detail from an Indian embroidered wall hanging, now restored to glory on my study/sanctuary wall. My aunt S, who now has dementia, used to work near here on occasions in the early 2000s, and she gave me this as a gift for putting her up. I rediscovered it in my fabrics collection which had been hiding ignominiously under the spare bed, as you shall hear.

I am in recovery from my holiday to Kent and a party yesterday. I hope to catch up with my blips.

Today I tackled the spare bed, which had most of the things that are usually stored underneath, on top. I’d got rid of some surplus items a few weeks ago, but there was still too much junk, and it’s possible that we may have guests using the bed soon (or not: they’ve had some health issues). I’ve now sorted out the stuff I want for camping this year, and moved the empty boxes and surplus bits to the loft . This is possible because we have a new collapsible ladder (not fixed, but portable) which makes nipping up and down a doddle! . I vacuumed under the bed, and put the ladder in place of all the junk. Said ladder folds up pretty small.

What a relief! I only found one playwork studies folder, the rest of the paperwork having been dealt with earlier. I’ve put some items on Freegle, but if they don’t go, I’ll take them to charity shops or other new homes.

I’ve also ordered folding water carriers and a tiny rechargeable battery thing for blowing up my airbed while camping. I’m going to camp lighter if it kills me!

This, and washing a few more fabrics from my collection, took up most of the day, because I’ve needed to rest/play Mah Jong on my phone a lot. Watched Karen Pirie on ITV, series 2. Enjoyed it.

Seven and a half work days until I go camping again at the Green Gathering ! Can’t wait.
