A Lotta Cuteness..

...around the feeders out front these days - lots of young'uns, trying to figure out how things work (extra) and fluttering about, not quite used to fending for themselves.

The usual suspects are here too but it is the newbies that are so adorable and fun to watch. The older, experienced  regulars are beauties but I have lots of flattering photos of them already, so today, although I took endless photos, I chose the fun ones that show them seemingly aware that they are being photographed...and their response to it! I love the goldfinch (am I not handsome?) and the cardinals (not you  again!) and the red-winged blackbird (who the heck are you and get your big  butt out of here!)

The birds had seemed to disappear during the heat wave, and also because I had removed the feeders lest there be rats. I gave in and filled the ones out front, but not out back -in the hope that rats prefer the quiet rural setting out back to the urban street traffic and noise out front?  Yeah right... Let's see how THAT works...

It was another fabulous weather day - so much like the summers we remember. What a treat. I spent the morning having "breakfast" with my friend Noreen. We had so much to chat about that breakfast turned out to me more like brunch! Then, the afternoon was so lovely that I could sit outside comfortably and also stand around chatting with neighbours who were also venturing out-of-house in this cooler weather. It was good to catch up on neighbourhood news.

The really good news today was that I now have my cardiology appointment, and it is only two weeks away. So, when the rest of the world will be off enjoying a summer long weekend, I will be having the usual echogram and ultrasound tests on Friday and wearing a heart monitor all weekend. Fun wow, but worth it to know if all is well or not.
