On This Day

Home to Harvest

We had a lovely last evening together yesterday then luckily had been offered a late check out time. My sister, BiL and daughter left about 09:00 for the long journey south (my daughter is off for a few more days of holiday) and the rest of us drifted away for our shorter trips home. Cameraman, Flora and I were last to leave.

It wasn't a pleasant journey home because there was very heavy rain. Very lucky that it wasn't the first day of our holiday. We were home in just over 90 minutes.

As always there's lots of unpacking to do but that will have to wait because we have been invited to a 'welcome to the world' party along the road. My friend has a new grandson.

I'm very tired but it's lovely to have been invited and there will be food which is a bonus as there's none in the house. We will be able to sort things slowly over the next couple of days.

Thanks for all the visits, hearts and stars this week. I'm way, way behind I'm afraid.

The blip is part of the harvest. Tomatoes, runner beans and especially courgettes are everywhere. I'm going to cut sweet peas and courgettes to take along the road!
