Red hot pokers

We have some very vigorous red hot pokers this year.

We have smaller ones as well, and a few agapanthus.

I weeded and edged this bed today - another blister from the grass clippers.  The bed had been rather overrun by groundsel in the two weeks we were away.  I've not been aware of groundsel in particular profusion in previous years - not sure why it suddenly grew this year.  Anyway, it's all cleared from that bed now.

Then I spent the afternoon in the sewing room.
