Things are Looking Up

Despite the blip being of a downward facing flower!   Kohleria 'Lucky Lucefer'

A day off.  Needed.  A lovely morning riverside walk with C and the Megs, Bella too.   C picked us up as my car was out of action.   Tomorrow we can return to normal as the car, which I took into the garage this afternoon, is sorted.   Two problems, the rattle I heard quite clearly being caused by a small rusted bracket under the bonnet leaving something a bit loose.   However, my thought that there was also an engine 'noise' was borne out, the oil rather low.  Topping it up sorted that, not topping it up could have ruined the engine so the louder noise problem may have saved a much more serious problem later.   Why the oil was so low is a mystery.   There's no sign of a leak serious enough to take it that low.   Could be the engine burning oil.  Ongoing level checks will test that theory.   Whatever, I am relieved to be back on the road.

In other news, two very nice chaps came and reduced my huge eucalyptus tree to a more manageable size, albeit they will need to return another day to remove one awkwardly placed limb.   This evening I popped into pottery and finished glazing my green man.  Hopefully we'll see the fired result next week.
