Reed Gone To Seed
After a busy week, and the tension of last night’s Lionesses game against Sweden, we were a bit slow to get going this morning but headed to Avalon Marshes for a walk on the Hawk and Owl Reserve.
We did see a buzzard on a hay bale, a kestrel perched on a pole and a charm of goldfinches but none of them stayed still long enough to focus on.
There was a distinct lack of bird life at either of the hides so here you have a seedy reed by the edge of the lake.
No visit to the Marshes would be complete without a visit to the cafe where we enjoyed a lunch of home made pork pie with pickle.
