Comfort Hymn (Tröstevisa)

by Benny Andersson

I received this afternoon the news that my dear friend of more than 40 years had passed away this morning. In fact, I tried to call him in the morning but failed to get a response for this apparent reason. He had been in the hospital for some weeks already. No big surprise but a huge loss. He was a great friend - we often signed under our messages to one another: "Your forever friend". He was a Swede living now in Norway so the Swedish comfort hymn is  quite appropriate. I visited the national park over here today, and the blip of the giant tree (born 1518 and died in 2004, height 26 m, circumference at 1.5 m height 2.9 m, see extra as well) is also suitable as he was a professional idol and mental giant for me in parts of my career. I owe him so much professionally and personally. During the past five years we had a two-hour video call every three to four weeks, and the call meant so much for both of us. Such a sad sad day.

I am still in a kind of shock!

Long live Ukraine!
