Surprise

A bit of a delayed start - the first surprise was rain over breakfast. So it was after 10am by the time I set off and I decided on a route up to a couple of huts that I could bale out at any point. With mist swirling the lure of ascent went on as I magically traversed the floral zones - see just a few in the extra. And then heading on up beyond the second hut (noisily Americans arrived at the same time) I ended up on not a col but a cliff at 3200 m overlooking a dramatic scene and in the distance Italy. A late picnic surprise viewpoint and even later return but a fabulous day.
