Love flower
Smithers and I have felt extremely weary today, and we have had a very quiet day as a consequence. Fortunately there were plenty of leftovers from yesterday’s meal, so we didn’t have any cooking to do.
I spent the afternoon clearing up a lot of the mess in the craft room, which was caused by making two dresses in quick succession. I have managed to create quite a bit of clear space on the work surfaces, ready to get crafting again. I always work better in a tidy environment.
I was so tired this evening that I couldn’t remember the name of this plant which is just starting to come into flower in the garden, and I had to resort to googling it. The brain fog could possibly have something to do with the fact that Smithers and I had just watched the live stream of the second of the three-part series of lectures on the Nicene Creed , which was delivered by our vicar in church this evening. There was a considerable amount of teaching about the creed being written to counter all the heresies doing the rounds in the early church, which involved us being taught lots of long Greek words!
And, while on the subject of Greek words, it so happens that the name Agapanthus is apparently derived from the Greek ‘agape’ (love) and ‘anthos’ (flower). I certainly didn’t know that when I took the photo, nor how well it would tie in with the subject matter of my blip!
