Cinnamon bug
A quick macro photoshoot in the garden this afternoon in between all the preparations for our family gathering in honour of The Traveller’s impending 40th birthday. This momentous event actually falls in a couple of weeks’ time, but today was the only day that all eleven of us were around and able to come and celebrate with a family meal.
This creature sitting on a sprig of lavender is apparently a cinnamon bug – it’s absolutely tiny, much smaller than the honey bees that were buzzing around nearby, and very easy to miss if it wasn’t for its distinctive colouring.
I, too, seem to have caught the cinnamon bug! After our main meal of cold chicken, salmon and assorted salads we had the famous raspberry and cinnamon torte again. My reasoning was that although The Traveller doesn’t usually enthuse about desserts, it’s his girlfriend T’s favourite (and mine!) so if I made it to please T, it would also make The Traveller happy on his birthday.
