Capturing a little atmosphere

I am still shooting on full manual and am kicking myself for not doing this years ago rather than waiting until now!  On Sunday past I took a photo of Paddy Mayne's grave so I thought it was appropriate to capture this image of the cafe named after him in Conway Square.  My aim was to capture the atmosphere produced by the illuminated lights inside the cafe, so this is what was upper most in my mind when I took the image.

Light in Newtownards was pretty flat and few people were about, so with not much to do I headed for the wall murals in Meeting House Lane, the subject of my extra image.  My timing was wrong, due to people entering the frame and stopping to let me take the image, when I really wanted them to ignore me.   However in this image the red hair and yellow clothing of one of the woman contrasted very nicely with the purple mural.  Pity about my timing!  I am becoming much more conscious of colour when taking photographs, a very different experience from taking monochrome.
