Dentist
Today is the conclusion of my Mexican dental experience, the final fitting of my new crown. Many people travel to foreign countries for dental, and medical, treatments because the costs are so much lower. I found this to be true, even in a resort community such as Zihuatanejo, and decided to take advantage of my residency here to get some needed dental work done, Cleaning was easy, and less than $50 USD, so I went the next step and replaced a decayed tooth with a crown.
This is my dentist and her office (my new crown is just barely visible in the lower right on the tray). She speaks excellent English and is very professional. I won't say it was a joy to visit her office, but it was much less unpleasant than similar experiences when I was in the United States. A new crown, with the attendant root canal and post, was $7,300 pesos, a little over $550 USD. I won't hesitate to return for any necessary future work.
