Johnny Sinclair's Nose
No mist today, just glorious sunshine all day and night (sunset 2217hrs). Flat calm, then windy, back to flat calm. Another day in the 20s degree.
Another 5am rise, street beat cleaning with James again. I was on the south beat, Lerwick was a mess after the fine night last night. Walkies with Sammy after work. Loads more weeding done in the garden. Helped big Brian with the caravan after lunch. More walkies in the afternoon. A super busy shift in the shop, lots of juice, ice-lollies and alcohol sales. Last walkies before bed.
I found this strange named cliff on an old map, Johnny Sinclair's Nose, I had to investigate. A beautiful walk along the coast, finally arrived at my destination. A very prominent rock sticking out into the sea, why was it named after this man? Did he have a big nose shaped like this? Was he a local notable? Met friend Kay Fraser, she helped me quiz her dad and others, so far dead-ends. I'll keep my investigation open, hopefully get an answer. Well worth the trip, regardless. Looking down to Johnny Sinclair's Nose, stacks behind named John and Barbara, Reawick/Roeness.
