Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Trauma. Chocolate needed.

Popped to see Uncle A and do some ironing. His piece of thread has been cut off. Whether it grows again we’ll see. His physio and assistant also paid a surprise visit. Uncle A was fair enjoying his morning!

I then popped down to the Royal Mile - it draws me like a bad smell. I took some excellent shots:

* A young woman (with a wee top hat perched on her head) plonking away at an amplified ukelele, and it sounded like heavy metal. I took lots of photos and even gave her some money.

* An old Scotsman, in full garb with long hair, tartan toorie and a bodrum on his back - was dancing slowly to this music - took lots of him.

* Lots of street shots of crazy costumes - and not all of them were performers!

* Someone giving money to the wobbly, fairly useless, ‘running man’ statue from yesterday!

Why not one of these, you ask? Because on the way home, on the bus, I played back the shots and the screen said,

**CARD ERROR!**

EEEEK! I’ve never had that happen before. It’s Not Nice. What if they had been really wonderful shots that couldn’t be repeated? I re-formatted it, but have replaced it now.

This nice man was out filing his fence in preparation for painting it. He had on a Very New Boiler Suit and I commented on how Very New it looked. He posed nicely in his Very New Boiler Suit for me. But he’s more worthy of a blip than the wobbly, fairly useless, ‘running man’ statue.

I shall have to go and lie down after that trauma...
