IT’S STILL TOO BLIPPING HOT!
We had a great service at Church this morning when, after some great worship songs, our preacher, Martin, asked us an important question - as you can see : “Are you a Pooh or a Piglet?”
Pooh, of course, woke up and asked “What’s for breakfast?” Whereas Piglet woke up, looked in the bathroom mirror and asked “What exciting things will happen today?” He rephrased this to “What exciting things does God have for me to do today?” I think I ask both questions during my week.
You can see Martin’s question on the screen and I’m sure many of us will re-visit his numbered points - perhaps that’s why every good Baptist preacher has at least 3 points in their sermon!
I was on coffee duty this morning - so not singing - with Mr. HCB and our friend Louise; we were all there early and got everything ready well before the service so we were able to go and sit quietly in the Church before the service started.
It was good to see at least three of our Community Fridge customers at Church this morning and to serve them and many others with coffee and biscuits after the service. We did have a slight mishap with one of the coffee machines, my fault entirely, but nothing that couldn’t be put right. However, Note to Self - change the coffee filter and put in new coffee BEFORE refilling the machine with water in future.
We are now sitting in the coolest part of our garden - the left shot in my collage - up in the corner, where there is a slight breeze, but the sun is creeping round, so we will probably have to move indoors very soon - because there is no part of our garden that will be in shade. We are not Wimbledon fans, but Mr. HCB thinks there may be some cricket on the television, so we know what he will be doing!
Hope you all have a good week - my resident weatherman tells me that it is due to get cooler tomorrow, which is good. I am due to help out at the English Language lessons at Church tomorrow from 1 o’clock so a cool day would be very welcome. M xx
