A day to play with glass

I went to our local college today to learn about glass fusing and slumping - a fun day of designing and creating what will eventually be (hopefully) an interesting looking small plate.  After a quick design session, thin ribbons of different colours are laid on a piece of clear ribbed glass - definitely fiddly to do - and once the design is laid out, the ribbons are glued in place.  Small squares of clear bulls eye glass are laid over the top of the coloured strands like a chequerboard and create areas that are thicker in places when the piece is fired and the glass fuses together to create hopefully an interesting result.  A lovely day, I can't wait to see what it looks like in due course and it was interesting to see what other people chose for their colours and designs for the bulls eye effect - some round, some oval, some triangles.  I went for the simple round shape, as a newbie to it all.
