Looking out for supper!
Friday
A very hot day today, with sunshine and clouds. Our day started with breakfast out on the patio, then I came in to do my Duolingo, while drinking my coffee. In the afternoon we went to the outdoor pool for a swim. However, that didn’t work out quite so well today, since they only have two lanes for lap swimming, and one was occupied by a high speed swimmer, who was doing butterfly at times, and the other was occupied by a lady who wasn’t exactly swimming, as doing exercises with a float. The assumption is that you can have several people swimming in a lane, by swimming in circles, up on one side, back on the other, but that doesn’t work when you have two extremes like that. We joined the lady who was moving slowly, since R didn’t fancy getting hit by the high speed swimmer, but it just wasn’t working well for me, so I only did 20 lengths, and then got out and found some shade to read my book. When we got home, we enjoyed a pre dinner drink out on the patio, and while we were doing that, this red-shouldered hawk came and sat on the fence at the bottom of the garden, keeping a look out for dinner! I went to get my camera, and took a few shots from the patio, before sneaking forward a few paces at a time, to try and get closer. I was surprised how close he let me get, before he flew off - I guess he was more intent on his dinner than this strange person creeping towards him! We had a light refreshing dinner, grilled salmon, accompanied by an oriental style salad.
