Midsummer abundance

I love being in the garden at the moment. Everywhere I look there is joyful abundance of colour, shape and fragrance. Just noticed this lily (which was put in that rose bed ‘for the time being’) opening out and creating a new focal point. Amongst other things you can see Judy Dench and Port Sunlight roses, with Salvia Caradonna.
Another busy day weeding, watering and planting. I found an Alchemilla conjuncta at Logan Gardens on Tuesday and I’m quite curious to see how it differs from the ubiquitous Alchemilla mollis. I did see Alchemilla officinalis in a physic garden in Uzes some years ago- it was not particularly attractive but has amazing therapeutic properties. I also deadheaded a geum Totally Tangerine and cut back Campanula Sharastro which was over too quickly.
