Storks of Niedersachsen

On the way from the airport Tuesday evening we passed a field of grazing storks, and today we came across just a few of the many Stork nests that can be found in the area. These two youngsters were in a nest on top of a house chimney in the middle of the town of Neustadt.

We were on our way to Steinhuder Meer where S and I went for a walk along the lake shore before returning to the nearby village of Mardorf for the most amazing Black Forest Cake, and yes, that was a cake for one! Then to a farm shop, complete with alpacas, before heading back to base, via the supermarket to pick up some German goodies to take home. Pics from the day in extras.

A day of skies alternating from grey to blue and back again, eventually reaching 23 degrees.
